Superb and uncommon Scandinavian modernist sterling silver pendant necklace by celebrated Norwegian silversmith Aksel Holmsen, dating to circa the 1960s.
The pendant features a wonderfully sculptural, almost architectural form created from sweeping sterling silver curves that rise dramatically toward the bail before opening into a broad geometric lower section. Suspended within the open center is a small sterling silver orb-like accent, creating another layer of dimension and visual movement.
The design is a fantastic example of postwar Scandinavian modernism—minimalist at first glance, yet highly dimensional and beautifully engineered. Its combination of negative space, polished silver surfaces and bold abstract geometry gives the pendant a distinctly Space Age / Mid-Century Modern character.
The pendant is fully marked Norway, Sterling, 925S along with the Aksel Holmsen maker's mark.
I have paired the pendant with a beautiful 20-inch Paolo Romeo Italian sterling silver chain, marked 925 Italy. The chain is not original to the pendant but was selected to complement the scale and modernist character of the piece.
The sterling has recently been professionally polished and presents beautifully, with a bright reflective finish that emphasizes the pendant's sculptural contours.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on gift cards.
European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
