Featuring an arched silhouette that is trimmed with a chrome band, both have an expertly carved geometric and artistic design. The design has the center bands frosted, adding depth and matching the frosted Lucite bases. There are no chips, cracks, repairs or damage of any kind Both lamps are in pristine condition and will be professionally packaged and shipped upon purchase. Karl Springer
Karl Springer (1931–1991) was a German-born American designer known for his luxurious, highly crafted furniture and decorative objects, and is considered one of the most influential furniture designers of the late 20th century.
Springer was born in Berlin, Germany, and trained in bookbinding before immigrating to New York City in 1957. He initially worked as a window dresser at Lord & Taylor while creating small decorative objects and accessories using fine leathers and exotic materials in his spare time. His work quickly gained attention after being picked up by Bergdorf Goodman, where it attracted a high-end clientele.
By the early 1960s, Springer had opened his own workshop in New York, and by 1965 he shifted his focus to furniture design. His career accelerated after the Duchess of Windsor became an early patron, helping introduce his work to elite social circles.
Springer’s designs are known for their combination of clean, modern forms with rich, often exotic materials such as shagreen (sharkskin), goatskin, lacquered parchment, wood veneers, metals, and stone. His aesthetic was heavily influenced by French Art Deco designers like Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann and Jean-Michel Frank, as well as Bauhaus principles and global design traditions.
Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Springer became one of the most sought-after designers in the United States, with showrooms in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and Tokyo. His work was collected by prominent figures including Jackie Onassis, Diana Ross, and Frank Sinatra.
Karl Springer died in 1991 at the age of 60. Today, his work is highly collectible and valued for its exceptional craftsmanship, use of luxurious materials, and its distinctive blend of modernism and Art Deco revival.
Returns policy

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on gift cards.
European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
