Exceptional Finnish modernist sterling silver bracelet designed by Paula Häiväoja for Kalevala Koru, precisely date-marked S7 for 1971.

The bracelet is composed of a rhythmic series of open circular links joined by smaller rings and slender rectangular connectors, creating an airy geometric composition that feels remarkably contemporary more than fifty years after it was made.

One of the most appealing details is the subtle contrast in surface treatment. The larger geometric elements alternate between softly brushed silver and brighter polished surfaces, allowing light to move differently across each link and emphasizing Häiväoja’s fascination with form, reflection and negative space.

Rather than relying on ornamentation, the design is built entirely from circle, line, proportion and movement — hallmarks of postwar Finnish modernism and of Häiväoja’s highly distinctive design language.

The bracelet measures a generous 8" long and remains visually light and extremely wearable despite its strong architectural presence.

Fully hallmarked with the Kalevala Koru maker’s mark, Finnish crown, 925H silver fineness mark, longboat assay symbol and S7 date code, establishing its Finnish origin and 1971 production.

About Paula Häiväoja

Paula Häiväoja (1929–2011) was one of Finland’s leading modernist jewelry designers and the first female chief designer of Kalevala Koru. She joined the company as a designer in 1956 and served as chief designer from 1963 to 1967, after which she worked independently and opened her own studio. Kalevala itself describes her silver jewelry as “ultramodern” and notes that her designs remain strikingly futuristic even more than half a century later.

Her work is particularly admired for its bold exploration of geometry, reflective silver surfaces, dimensional form and visual movement, placing her firmly within the important generation of postwar Finnish modernist designers.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition with light wear consistent with age. The bracelet will be professionally cleaned prior to shipment. The hallmarks are exceptionally small and difficult to photograph clearly; please review all photographs closely.

Returns policy

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return. 
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags (if applicable) and in its original packaging.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on gift cards.

European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
