Exceptional vintage sterling silver bangle bracelet by renowned Taxco workshop Taller Los Ballesteros, dating to approximately the 1950s–60s.

This substantial 48.2 gram bracelet features a beautifully sculptural continuous form that twists and flows around the wrist in a manner reminiscent of a Möbius ribbon. The broad front gradually narrows as the silver turns through itself, creating a fluid sense of movement and a striking interplay of polished surfaces and reflected light.

Although distinctly Mexican in origin, the bracelet has a wonderfully international modernist quality, with the clean sculptural simplicity often associated with Scandinavian jewelry of the same period. Rather than relying on applied decoration, the design is created entirely through form, proportion and movement.

The bracelet is crafted in solid sterling silver and has a beautifully substantial feel in the hand and on the wrist. Its approximately 8" inner circumference also makes it an unusually generous vintage bangle size.

Marked for Taller Los Ballesteros, Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico, along with the MM-34 registration mark and 925 silver designation.

Taller Los Ballesteros was founded by Jalil Majul Ballesteros, whose family had a long silversmithing tradition in Guerrero. The workshop became one of Taxco’s important producers of high-quality mid-century silver jewelry, known for bold modernist forms and substantial hand-crafted construction.

The bracelet has recently been professionally polished and now presents with a bright mirror-like finish. Because of the highly reflective surface, some lines or darker areas visible in photographs may simply be reflections rather than flaws.
