A superb and unusually bold example of Scandinavian modernist jewelry by Anna-Greta Eker for Norway PLUS Designs, dating to circa the 1960s.

This substantial sterling silver statement ring features a broad rectangular face composed of repeating raised half-moon or shell-like forms arranged in a wonderfully rhythmic geometric pattern. Deep oxidized recesses between the polished silver elements create striking contrast and give the surface remarkable depth and dimension.

The design has an almost architectural quality when viewed straight on, yet on the hand it becomes wonderfully sculptural — a perfect example of the experimental Scandinavian studio jewelry being produced by PLUS in Fredrikstad during the height of the modernist movement.

The interior carries an impressive full set of workshop and designer marks:

ND mark – AGE – PLUS mark – STERLING – 925S – NORWAY

The AGE mark identifies designer Anna-Greta Eker, one of the principal jewelry designers associated with the celebrated PLUS workshop alongside Erling Christoffersen and Tone Vigeland. PLUS was established in Fredrikstad in 1958 and became an important center for innovative Norwegian craft and modern design. Eker’s work in particular is admired for its bold geometry and highly sculptural approach to wearable silver.

At 15 grams, this is a particularly substantial ring, with a wide face that makes a dramatic statement without feeling overly ornate. The adjustable/open construction also gives it some flexibility in fit.

The ring is in excellent vintage condition with little to no apparent wear, retaining crisp definition throughout the repeating shell motif and attractive dark oxidation within the recesses.

A fantastic collector’s piece for admirers of Anna-Greta Eker, Norway PLUS, Scandinavian Modernism, mid-century studio jewelry, and sculptural sterling silver design.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
