About the Artist: Bernhard Rohne
Bernhard Rohne was born in Peine, West Germany, in 1944. He began his artistic training as a teenager and attended the Academy of Applied Arts in Hannover, where he developed an early interest in metal etching.
Following additional study in France, he immigrated to Vancouver, British Columbia, where he established his metallic design studio.
Rohne developed a distinctive artistic practice involving the chemical etching and oxidation of metal surfaces, creating intricate compositions with remarkable depth, texture, and coloration.
During the 1970s, he also became associated with Mastercraft, producing distinctive etched-metal designs incorporated into luxury furniture and decorative objects.

His work encompasses original wall art, architectural installations, sculpture, furniture, and decorative metalwork.
Today, his metallic compositions remain recognizable for their experimental techniques and bold combination of abstract geometry, metallic finishes, and architectural form.
