A wonderfully whimsical pair of vintage solid brass teddy bear bookends by Dolbi Cashier, dating to the 1980s, beautifully reimagined with a striking glossy metallic-black finish.
These charming sculptural bears feature stylized rounded bodies, expressive little faces, and elongated legs that give them an unmistakably playful personality.
Their distinctive silhouettes combine the nostalgic charm of a childhood teddy bear with the bold, imaginative character of contemporary Pop Art.
Originally produced in solid brass, the pair has been thoughtfully refinished in a sophisticated hammered metallic black, creating a wonderful interplay of texture, reflection, and sculptural form.
The refreshed finish was inspired by the playful, highly polished sculptural aesthetic associated with contemporary artist Jeff Koons, transforming these vintage decorative objects into a fresh and thoroughly modern statement.

Two Ways to Display
One of the most appealing features of these bookends is their versatility.

Both pieces have been fitted with industrial-grade protective rubber backing across their flat surfaces, helping provide stability, grip, and protection for surrounding books and furniture.
Their substantial solid brass construction gives them excellent weight for supporting a curated collection of books.

Restoration & Condition
Both bookends are in excellent restored vintage condition, with no dents, structural damage, or repairs noted.
The original solid brass bodies have been refreshed with a glossy hammered metallic-black finish and protected with a clear lacquer topcoat.
The protective coating is intended to enhance durability and help preserve the refreshed finish.
Industrial-grade rubber backing has been added to both pieces for improved grip and surface protection.
This sculpture is part of my ongoing restoration collection, created to preserve vintage decorative art and return deserving pieces to beautiful display condition. I have restored over 50 sculptures and countless home decor pieces.

Returns policy

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on gift cards.
European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
