A wonderfully complete and increasingly difficult-to-find mid-century Couroc of Monterey owl barware ensemble, bringing together a matching serving tray, four whiskey glasses and the original coordinating ice bucket.

Introduced during the height of the mid-century cocktail era, the owl motif is one of Couroc’s most recognizable and charming designs. Against the company’s signature deep black surfaces, finely detailed gold-toned owls perch on delicate branches beneath tiny celestial accents, creating a playful yet sophisticated design that feels unmistakably 1960s.

The centerpiece of the set is the large glossy black Couroc serving tray, featuring an oversized owl rendered with remarkable feather detail and dramatic round eyes. The matching whiskey glasses repeat the owl motif in gold around the lower portion of each glass, while the tall black ice bucket carries its own beautifully detailed owl design and gleaming brass-tone hardware.

Displayed together, the set has tremendous visual impact and would be exceptional on a vintage bar cart, cocktail cabinet, credenza or entertaining console. The black-and-gold palette gives it just enough glamour to work beautifully in both authentic mid-century interiors and more contemporary spaces.

The four whiskey glasses are in good to excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or structural damage. There is some minor age-related loss to the gilded decoration.

The serving tray remains glossy and bright with only minimal surface wear consistent with age.

The ice bucket is especially well preserved, with a remarkably clean interior and excellent black exterior covering. The brass-tone fittings show only light natural patina, adding just the right amount of vintage character.

Finding individual Couroc owl pieces is possible; finding a coordinated barware grouping this complete is considerably more difficult. Together, the pieces create a wonderfully collectible snapshot of sophisticated 1960s California cocktail culture.
