Exceptional handmade sterling silver statement necklace featuring an eclectic combination of colorful gemstones and a beautifully carved amethyst scarab beetle pendant.
The focal element is an organic, sculptural sterling silver composition formed from raised silver spheres, sweeping wire tendrils and asymmetrical bezel-set gemstones. Faceted blue topaz, amethyst, peridot and garnet provide flashes of blue, purple, green and deep red against the oxidized and polished silver surfaces.
Suspended from the center is a substantial oval amethyst cabochon intricately carved in the form of a scarab beetle, bezel-set in sterling silver and articulated so that it moves freely beneath the main centerpiece.
The combination of rounded silver forms, curling wirework and irregular gemstone placement gives the necklace a distinctive biomorphic Modernist / studio-jewelry aesthetic. The handmade construction is intentionally organic rather than perfectly symmetrical, making the piece feel more like wearable sculpture than conventional gemstone jewelry.
The necklace is in excellent pre-owned condition with little visible wear. All gemstones are securely set and appear free of chips or significant damage.
The highly polished silver surfaces are reflective; dark lines, black areas or other apparent marks visible in the photographs may be reflections rather than surface damage.
