A superb and exceptionally scarce example of mid-century American modernist jewelry by noted artist and sculptor Russell Secrest.
This striking sterling silver demi-parure includes a sculptural brooch and matching earrings, each designed with an abstract geometric composition of openwork forms, polished silver surfaces, and deeply oxidized recesses. The contrast between the bright sterling and darkened interior areas gives the set remarkable depth and dimension, emphasizing Secrest's distinctly architectural and sculptural approach to jewelry design.
The brooch has a bold yet compact presence and coordinates beautifully with the matching earrings. The set has been professionally polished and presents exceptionally well, with the sterling retaining a bright finish while the recessed areas preserve the dramatic oxidized contrast that defines the design.
A silver brooch-to-pendant converter is also included, allowing the brooch to be worn on a chain as a pendant for additional versatility.
Russell Secrest (1935–2010) was an American metalsmith, jeweler, and sculptor associated with Rochester, New York, and later Petoskey, Michigan. He studied at the School for American Craftsmen at the Rochester Institute of Technology and worked in both handwrought and cast sterling silver, as well as bronze and kinetic sculpture. Secrest later operated Artisans Gallery in Petoskey and became particularly recognized for his sculptural work.
Because sculpture became a major focus of his career, Secrest jewelry appears relatively infrequently on the secondary market, particularly complete matching sets. His jewelry is prized by collectors of American studio jewelry, mid-century modern design, and sculptural sterling silver.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
