Janina & Lars Nielsen Denmark Modernist Sterling Silver Hammered XL Statement Pendant Necklace Circa 1980s
Nielsen, featuring the bold geometric forms and dramatic surface contrasts
associated with late 20th-century Scandinavian modernist jewelry.
The oversized pendant is designed in a broad half-moon / crescent form, with a
deeply darkened sterling silver outer border framing a slightly raised, highly polished
central panel. Subtle hand-worked and hammered detailing along the surrounding silver adds texture and dimension, while the smooth reflective center creates a beautiful contrast between light, shadow, and oxidized finish. At an impressive 3.30 inches wide, the pendant has substantial visual presence without feeling overly heavy when worn. The clean geometry and strong graphic silhouette give it an unmistakably modernist character — minimalist in concept, yet dramatic enough to serve as the focal point of an entire outfit.
The reverse is finished in polished sterling silver and bears the Janina signature incursive. There is very minor surface wear to the reverse consistent with age and previous wear, but the pendant remains in excellent vintage condition overall.
I have paired the pendant with a substantial Silpada sterling silver oval torque / collar neck ring, which complements the scale and sculptural quality of the pendant beautifully. Please note that the neck ring is not original to the pendant; it is a later pairing selected specifically for its proportion and visual compatibility. The neck ring is marked with the Silpada maker's mark and 925.
Because of the highly reflective polished sterling surfaces, some lines, shadows, or reflections visible in the photographs are from the surrounding environment rather than flaws in the silver.

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags (if applicable) and in its original packaging.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on gift cards.
European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
