Phenomenal and exceptionally unusual sterling silver and black onyx Brutalist Modernist necklace by Icelandic designer Jens Guðjónsson, dating to approximately the 1970s.
The necklace features a wonderfully sculptural, free-form pendant created in heavily textured sterling silver. Its irregular openwork construction, rugged surface treatment, and almost molten or geological appearance embody the expressive, organic character of Scandinavian Brutalist jewelry of the period. Suspended beneath the silver composition is a polished black onyx cabochon, providing a dramatic dark accent against the richly textured sterling.
Just as striking is the necklace itself, composed of elongated hand-worked sterling silver bar links joined by circular connecting rings. Each bar has an intentionally irregular, textured surface that beautifully echoes the pendant and gives the entire piece a cohesive artisan-made appearance.
It is especially uncommon to find one of Jens Guðjónsson's pendants still accompanied by its original coordinating bar-link necklace, making this a particularly desirable example for the serious collector.
At a substantial 46.1 grams, the necklace has wonderful presence and weight. The generous 22.5-inch length allows the pendant to hang beautifully and makes it an effortless statement piece.
The necklace is in excellent vintage condition with no damage of any kind and remarkably little wear. The onyx remains smooth and glossy, while the sterling retains the wonderfully dimensional surface and character intended by the artist.
A rare and exceptional example of Icelandic Modernist studio jewelry—bold, sculptural, unmistakably handmade, and exceptionally wearable.
The goldsmiths of Jens Guðjónsson has since its foundation in 1965 in Reykjavík and is well known for bold and innovative designs that has even prominent presence in Iceland's fashion jewelry design.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags (if applicable) and in its original packaging.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items

European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
