A striking and unusually complete Luli Hamersztein sterling silver and ancient Roman glass necklace and bracelet set, combining sculptural modernist design with the luminous character of centuries-old glass.
Handcrafted in Israel, the necklace features an expressive series of individually formed sterling silver pendants suspended from a sleek silver neck wire. Alternating hammered and organic abstract elements create wonderful movement across the neckline, while several of the pendants incorporate softly colored fragments of ancient Roman glass in shades of pale aqua, seafoam and green. Each glass fragment is secured within an intentionally irregular sterling setting, allowing the ancient material to remain the focal point of the design.
The coordinating bracelet continues the same distinctive vocabulary, with rectangular hammered sterling links alternating with ancient Roman glass panels. The glass is set within sculptural sterling frames and joined by double-chain links, giving the bracelet both flexibility and visual movement.
One of the most compelling characteristics of ancient Roman glass is its naturally developed surface coloration and iridescence. After centuries of exposure to environmental and mineral conditions, surviving fragments can display subtle shifts of aqua, green, lavender and silvery tones. Because each fragment develops individually, no two pieces of Roman glass are exactly alike.
The deliberately irregular surfaces, hammered textures and asymmetrical forms are characteristic of Hamersztein's expressive modernist jewelry and give the set the feeling of small pieces of wearable sculpture rather than conventional gemstone jewelry.
Both pieces are signed Luli / SR / 925 for the designer and sterling silver.
The necklace and bracelet are particularly desirable together, as coordinating Hamersztein pieces are far less commonly encountered as a complete set.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition with very little apparent wear. The sterling retains its hand-worked surface and texture, while the ancient glass displays the naturally irregular coloration and surface characteristics expected of archaeological glass. Please review all photographs closely as they form an important part of the condition description.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
