A dramatic piece of vintage artisan-made sterling silver modernist jewelry, combining an architectural asymmetrical torque collar with an exceptionally sculptural oversized pendant.

The rigid sterling neck ring has a beautifully fluid, hand-worked form, sweeping asymmetrically around the neckline before curving into an open hook-like termination at the front. Its subtly hammered surface catches and reflects the light while retaining the unmistakable character of hand-fabricated studio jewelry.

Suspended from the collar is a remarkable three-dimensional abstract pendant constructed from looping, twisting and intersecting ribbons of sterling silver. Rather than presenting a single flat design, the pendant projects outward in multiple planes, creating changing negative spaces and silhouettes depending upon the viewing angle.

The combination of sweeping curves, linear elements and open space gives the piece a distinctly mid-century and late-20th-century modernist sculptural quality. Worn against the body, the necklace reads almost like a miniature abstract sculpture — bold enough to make a statement while remaining beautifully balanced.

The pendant is removable from the collar, allowing the asymmetrical sterling torque to be appreciated as a striking design element in its own right.

Both the substantial weight and hand-worked construction give this piece a wonderful sense of quality. At 60.1 grams, it has considerably more presence than a lightweight fashion necklace and feels every bit like artisan studio jewelry.

The piece is signed BF / Sterling. The identity of the artisan has not yet been confirmed, so it is being represented simply by the maker's initials rather than attributed without documentation.

It has recently been professionally polished, restoring a brilliant high-shine finish while preserving the texture and hand-fabricated character of the silver. Because of the highly reflective surface, some lines, shadows or variations visible in the photographs are reflections rather than damage.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Professionally polished with a bright, reflective finish and no apparent significant damage. Minor surface characteristics consistent with age and handcrafted sterling jewelry may remain.

A truly distinctive piece of wearable modernist sculpture — substantial, sophisticated and especially striking when worn.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
