Fantastic sterling brooch by the iconic designer Janiyé. This piece, titled Atomic Apple, is a modernist look at an apple after having been sliced open. Very artistic and the details are incredible. It has recently been professionally polished and looks outstanding. Included with purchase is a converter so it can be worn as a pendant if preferred. Janiyé Miye Matsukata
Modernist silversmith Janiyé Miye Matsukata (1922- 1981) who was born in Tokyo Japan. After attending the Museum of Fine Arts School in Boston, she opened her store, JANIYE on Newbury Street in Boston in 1950 and continued to create her beautiful minimalist jewelry till her death in 1981.
