Stunning detail in this ultra rare piece!
The enamel clean, bright, glossy and damage free. Beautiful art deco design with intricate detail and repousse trim detail. The gilding is clean and bright. Other than very minimal wear to the backside, it looks as if it has never been worn.
Olav Fridtjof Hjortdahl was born in 1887 and died in 1954. He opened a workshop in Oslo with Bernhard Meldahl beginning in 1914, but they parted ways in 1931 and Hjortdahl continued on his own till his death.
