Fantastic abstract modernist sterling silver large and hefty brooch by the incomparable Erika Hult de Corral "Ric" of Taxco. It is in like new condition and the clasp works properly. It has recently been professionally polished and looks phenomenal. Please excuse the lines or reflections, as it's extremely shiny and hard to photograph. Included with purchase is an adapter so it can be worn as a pendant if preferred.
Mannequin is a life-size torso representation
Erika Hult de Corral, known by her signature "Ric". She studied at the Paris affiliate of the New York's Parsons School of Design. She worked in Taxco both with Sigi Pineda and Enrique Ledesma before moving to Puerto Vallarta and opening her own shop in 1966. Most of her early pieces are stamped with Taxco's Eagle 3, indicating that her designs where executed by Taxco Silversmiths. Her work is very modern, reminiscent of Danish Modern with its clean contoured lines.
