Beautiful sterling silver cufflinks and tie bar set by the iconic Los Castillo Taxco designed by Antonio Castillo along with his wife, Margot van Hoories aka Margot de Taxco. Set consists of a set of cufflinks and a tie bar in solid sterling silver with a modernist 3-D quatrefoil shape with one corner folded over and adorned with a pearl in each center and the edges feature a inlaid copper strip. The entire set has recently been professionally polished and looks phenomenal. Please excuse the lines or reflections, as it's extremely shiny and hard to photograph. This is an incredible museum quality, collector's set. Brand new giftbox included as pictured.


Los Castillo was an influential and ongoing design and manufacturing enterprise established in 1939 by Antonio Castillo (Teran) and his brothers Justo and Jorge, and cousin Salvador Teran. Los Castillo is known for sterling jewelry and for fine pieces in "married metals" combining various metals, such as silver, copper and brass. Castillo, who arrived in Taxco in 1923, began his long career working for William Spratling at Taller de Las Delicias. He married Margot van Voorhies "Margot de Taxco" prior to opening Los Castillo taller.  An early Castillo business card says: "A lady without jewels is like a night without stars."- From Bille Hougart's Book "The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks"
