Modernist, sculptural and bold sterling silver and Amethyst ring. Ring features a long face that is slightly curved upwards and a gorgeous oval shaped bezel set Amethyst as the central focus. I've only ever seen one other like this and it had the date stamp R9 for 1967. Ring has recently been professionally polished and looks practically new.

Alton (1946-1987)
Modernist jewellery designer Alton, established in Fallköping, was one of the leading Swedish Jewellery designers and producers from 1946 till 1987. Most famous for works designed by K.E.Palmberg, who was the head designer for the company, and whose signature appears on these pieces. Other important modernist designers include Per Dåvik and Theresia Hvorslev. Most of their jewellery was created in sterling silver but they also made use of other innovative materials. Well known for their very high-quality jewellery.
