Fantastic modernist 3-D circle earrings by the iconic designer Betty Cooke. Earrings feature a larger textured matte finish sterling silver disc that is partially nestled under a second, slightly smaller disc that is a high gloss mirror finish 14k yellow gold. Traditional sterling silver post back for pierced ears with 14k yellow gold backs. They have recently been professionally polished and look outstanding. Another gorgeous and timeless work of art, soon to be a cherished family heirloom.
Betty Cooke is a recognized as being one of the premier artists associated with the mid-century modernist American Studio Jewelry movement. Born in 1924, she trained as a sculptor at the Maryland Institute of Art , receiving her degree in 1946. Her designs have a clean cut, architectural quality, with an emphasis on simplicity.
