Elaine Rader is a master Goldsmith living in the mountains of North Georgia and creates incredible and unique one of kind pieces. This stunning work of art is no exception. At 4" long, this is quite a statement piece. Made of oxidized sterling silver, it is a 3 dimensional oval shape with a large oval, round top, pin set Mookaite Jasper stone and accented with 22k yellow gold throughout. It features a pinback and bale loop on the back, allowing it to be worn as a brooch or pendant. It is in exceptional condition, with little to no wear. I have paired it with a dark sterling silver chain. An incredible and stunning collector worthy statement piece.

Mookaite is an Australian Jasper of bold, earthy beauty with a fiery fusion of red and yellow energies. It carries an invigorating frequency of strength and vitality, and increases Life Force within the physical body. An Aboriginal Mother Earth stone, it is gaining in popularity throughout the world for its healing capacity, and for empowering one to feel and connect with the electromagnetic energy currents of the Earth. It enables one to utilize these positive energies to increase one’s will and focus one’s personal power.        Mookaite Jasper is found only in the Kennedy Ranges of Western Australia in outcroppings near Mooka Creek, the area for which it is named. The Aboriginal term “Mooka” means “running waters” and refers to the numerous springs that feed into this area. Mookaite was formed as the skeletal remains of radiolaria, microscopic protozoa with a hard silica shell, were deposited over millennia as sediment in shallow areas of sea beds. As waters receded, the remains were solidified by additional silica carried in groundwater, along with minerals that produced its beautiful combinations of red, burgundy, mustard-yellow, cream, white, brown, mauve and purple.

ABOUT ELAINE RADER'S JOURNEY.....
I was born and raised on Riverside Drive in New York City, by two wonderful parents, Edith and Paul Rader.  My father was a professional artist and surrounded me with artistic expression.  I found my first love in the art of dance and was fortunate to have trained at Juilliard and then the School of American Ballet, the New York City Ballet Company's school, where I was introduced to the rigors and disciplines of competitive dance. 

Taking a break from the artistic world, landed me in Miami and in the banking industry where I soon found myself searching again for a creative outlet.  I found creating my jewelry and nurturing this talent required the solace of nature that I found in the mountains of North Georgia, where I lived in a wonderful cabin on a river for over 25 years.  After years of a long distance relationship, I moved and now enjoy time in the mysterious character land of Mississippi and New Orleans which also influences my work.  I believe I will one day again return to the mountains that still call me, but for now I am enjoying where I am.

As to the future of my craft, I have stopped selling through art shows and now sell exclusively through my website, which is giving me more time to create.
