Absolutely stunning work of wearable art by the iconic Björn Weckström for Lapponia. Completely handmade and one of only a small quantity ever produced. The necklace is titled Kilimanjaro and featured in the self titled book of his works published in 1980 on page 65, with a photo from the Royal Scottish Museum, Edinburgh.
Features a half sterling - half resin design with resin elements in clear, green and blue hues with lots of bubbles. The silver half has 3D peaks, a finely textured surface with a traditional bar link chain that is connected to the pendant with an articulating hinged joint. Heavy, substantial and eye catching piece. Has little to no wear, no damage, yellow or chips to the resin. Superb and rare piece of very collectible wearable art. Purchased from a private estate in New York.
