Stunning modernist sterling silver ring by American designer Jody Ochs. Ring features a lightly textured cigar band in an organic modernist style and is adorned with a triangular dome shaped Amethyst and a round bullet shaped Blue Topaz. The ring has recently been professionally polished and looks almost new! 

A Minnesota native, I began designing and creating jewelry in 1994 by wrapping raw gemstones in gold and silver wire. Next - to further my self-expression, I taught myself lapidary skills. Seeking more challenges and a way to expand my design ideas, I then decided to learn silversmithing - fabrication. I have taken a few workshops, but am mostly self-taught through experimentation. Much of my work includes spiculums; hollow acicular forms, using both synclastic and anticlastic forming, creating a fluid 3-dimensional organic result. My jewelry path is a synthesis of my life and inner spiritual journey. Growing up in the military, I have lived in many places, including Japan and Germany, and traveled most of Europe. The influences of these cultures are intrinsic in my work. In 1997, a strong yearning to take my journey to a more peaceful, quiet lifestyle, prompted my move from the inner city of Minneapolis to the pristine mountains of North Carolina. Nestling in the mountains near Asheville gave way to an intimate relationship with nature and allowed more peace of mind to expand both my creativity and metalsmith skills. Currently, I spend winters in Florida and summers in Minnesota so I can spend more time with my son. My tools are always with me, to both make and teach. Hobbies include walking in nature, kayaking, and gardening, with an emphasis on regenerative agriculture. - Courtesy of Jody's Website.
