Frequently attributed to the renowned designer James Mont, this ice bucket/chiller was actually made in Taiwan by Getz Bros. in the early 1960's and designed after a Shang Dynasty talisman cauldron. The Shang Dynasty is the earliest ruling dynasty of China to be established in recorded history, though other dynasties predated it. The Shang ruled from 1700 to 1027 B.C. and were known for their advances in math, astronomy, artwork and military technology.

It is in excellent condition with no cracking or damage to the liner and the metal on both the base and lid are also fully intact with no cracks or damage. Fantastic designer piece with a great faux bronze patina finish. Home décor, planter, fruit bowl, catchall... so many possibilities!
