The brooch is in good condition, with only a few minor scratches and wear but it will be professionally polished before shipping. Betty Cooke is a recognized as being one of the premier artists associated with the mid-century modernist American Studio Jewelry movement. Born in 1924, she trained as a sculptor at the Maryland Institute of Art , receiving her degree in 1946. Her designs have a clean cut, architectural quality, with an emphasis on simplicity.
