Fantastic sterling pendant by the famous female Norwegian designer Astri Holthe. Pendant is in excellent condition with little to no wear, but will be professionally polished prior to shipping. I have paired it with an extra long Milor Italy 925 sterling silver diamond cut chain and it really pairs with the pendant perfectly! Gorgeous set.

Astri Holthe (1917-1998) Astri Holthe was the daughter of the goldsmith Emil Ager-Wick and she followed in his footsteps and became a goldsmith. She started out small with jewelry after her own design. She registered the company in 1943. At the time it was difficult for the women to get jewelry.
Just after the war there was great shortage of materials, but Astri Holthe used the time to travel out in search of inspiration for new methods and materials. She brought the ideas and contacts home with her, where she expanded the production rapidly. In 1949, she and her husband, Gerhard, founded what would become a very successful factory near the Norwegian town of Arendal in the Barbu valley. Twenty years later, their factory had 90-100 employees. She specialized in sterling and some pewter, jewelry as well as pewter Christmas plates.
